Overview
Dr Ezgi Kaya is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Economics at Cardiff Business School, Cardiff University and a fellow at the Global Labor Organization (GLO). She received her PhD in Economics from the IDEA Graduate Programme at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2014. Her research fields include labour economics, applied microeconometrics and economic demography. The focus of some of her recent research is the labour supply behaviour of married women and men, with emphasis on the role of assortative mating, household interactions, and fertility decisions. She is also working on the causes and characteristics of gender gaps in labour market outcomes, the impact of migration policies and the relationship between labour market policies and fertility. She has also carried out research on the identification of peer effects on the co-residence decision of young adults with their parents, a decision that is often associated with fertility, mobility and future labour market outcomes.
