Research interests
My academic interests are in the pre-modern Arabic- Islamic tradition. My research interests focus on how ideas are received, circulated, assimilated, reproduced and transformed as well as the religious, social and institutional contexts in which this process takes place. I focus on the history of Arabic-Islamic science. I use both textual (manuscript and print) and material (object and image) sources. I also have an interest in Philosophy of Science - particularly in experimentation, observation and methods.
