Overview
Dr Anderson is a Reader in Magnetic Engineering conducting research on the development, application and characterisation of soft magnetic materials and teaching on the Electrical and Electronic and Integrated Engineering degree schemes.
He has been an investigator on research grants with a total value of over £5.5M, and has led several large industrially funded research programmes and corsortia..
Dr Anderson's work has been published in 84 papers in peer reviewed international journals (cite: 764, h: 17 Google Scholar) and he is co-author of a 2 volume book on Electrical Steels (IET Publishing).
he a member of the International Organising Committees for three international conferences and the British and Internationals Standards committees for magnetic alloys.
Biography
Dr Philip Anderson is a Reader in Electromagnetic Engineering and expert in development, application and characterisation of soft magnetic materials and their applications. He previously worked as a Teaching Company Associate at European Electrical Steels (1996-1998) and later Research Scientist (1998-1999) whilst studying for a PhD which was awarded by Cardiff University in 2000. PA subsequently became a PDRA (2000-2002) and later Technical Manager (2003-2011) at the Wolfson Centre for Magnetics Technology, Cardiff University. He was appointed as Lecturer in the School of Engineering in 2012, promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2014 before promotion to Reader in 2020.
