Overview
I am a Postdoctoral Research Associate based in the psychosis research group within the MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics and Genomics.
My research involves investigating the clinical characteristics associated with specific genes in schizophrenia as part of the Takeda and Cardiff University drug discovery collaboration. I am interested in finding ways to identify subgroups of people with psychosis, so they may benefit from more tailored healthcare.
Biography
After an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s degree in psychiatric research, I began working as a research assistant at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN). I stayed there for over 4 years, working on various studies involving participants with schizophrenia. It was during my years at the IoPPN that, in addition to my day-job, I completed a PhD part-time. In January 2020, I joined the psychosis research group within the MRC Centre for Neuropsychiatric Genetics & Genomics.
