Overview
I am a research associate at the School of Engineering. I work on the simulation part of the EPSRC Resilient Materials for Life Programme Grant project - see project website RM4L. I am applying the expertise developed in my PhD in Computational Mechanics (specifically error estimation) to improve the numerical micromechanical model of self-healing fibre reinforced concrete.
Prior to shifting my career towards academia and scientific computations I was a chartered civil engineer in Catalonia with 6 years of experience in road design. My position at DOPEC involved duties as a road geometry design specialist, a project manager and a team leader. I have also worked as a MEP engineer for several design consultants.
I am also involved in demonstration of some finite element method related courses.
