Overview
Immunology is without a doubt the most interesting science in the world, which is why I study it. Numbers are the language that describe it best, so that's what I like to use. By looking at the body's responses to cancer, viruses, bacteria and surgery through the lens of the immune response we can see more clearly what's happening in the body. We do that by measuring cellular changes and immune mediators such as cytokines then interpreting the results with statistics and machine learning.
I also enjoy science communication and engagement and have presented science at the Hay Festival, at SciComedy nights and in public lecture series.
