Overview
Our research aims to use advanced chemical biology and synthetic biology techniques to solve enzymology questions that are of medicinal and industrial importance. Our research programs will provide comprehensive training in various aspects of chemistry and biology. These studies can also lead to the production of biologically active and/or industrially useful compounds, and data obtained for these projects will be published in peer-reviewed journals.

- Elucidating the role of post-translational modifications on enzyme catalysis
- Probing the role of protein dynamics in protein functions
- Reprogramming natural product biosynthetic pathways
We will provide extensive training on a wide array of useful techniques, including molecular cloning, enzyme preparation, peptide synthesis, unnatural amino acid incorporation, HPLC, and mass spectrometry, all of which are routinely used in both academic and industrial laboratories.
