Overview

I am a Lecturer in School of Computer Science & Informatics and Business School, teaching a range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules as well as supervising disserations.  I am also A Senior Personal Tutor in School of Computer Science & Informatics, and International Student Mobility Lead.

My research and professional interests include: e-commerce, Semantic Web technologies, ontological customer profiling, e-commerce personalisation, disruptive technologies and business strategy; students' innovation and entrepreneurial skills, and international student mobility.

I have an extensive experience in development, delivery, coordination and evaluation of new and existing postgraduate and undergraduate programmes of study.

Biography

I have been at Cardiff since 2002, and have been involved in teaching all levels of Undergraduate Taught (UGT) and Postgraduate Taught (PGT) programmes.

I have a particular interest in teaching and researching multi-disciplinary subjects that span Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems and Business domains. Throughout my career, I have proposed, designed, developed and delivered a variety of modules, which covered different areas, from ’typical’ technology-oriented topics, such as system design and development; to business-oriented and softer subjects, developing the students’ broader knowledge of computing industry and research, as well as transferable and professional skills.  I have experience in mentoring new members of staff and teaching assistants, involved in delivering the modules I am responsible for.

My teaching expertise also extends to supervision and moderation of undergraduate and posgraduate dissertations.

In a wider context, I am an active contributor to a number of School-wide and University-wide groups and committees, responsible for development and review of learning and teaching policies, strategic and operational aspects, and curriculum.
