Overview
Mechanical Engineer. Expertise includes design and topology optimisation based on the use of finite element methods for structural and multiphysics analysis. Also a member of the M2DO group managed by Professor H. Alicia Kim.
Biography
Dr. Renato Picelli is a PDRA in the M2DO Group in the School of Engineering, CU since 2016. He received his PhD on "Evolutionary Topology Optimization of Fluid-structure Interaction Problems'' in 2015 from the University of Campinas, Brazil. His PhD work is acknowledged as one of the three existent methodologies for topology optimisation of design-dependent fluid- and acoustic-structure interaction problems. He was a visiting PhD student at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in 2014, and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in 2015. He currently works with topology optimisation for stress-constrained structures using the level set method. In total, he has published 9 journal papers and 16 conference papers in engineering optimisation.

We are currently unable to retrieve the list of publications. Visit our institutional repository. My research interests are primarily in topology optimisation of multiphysics and structural-material systems. I am currently working on stress-constrained design and structures for energy harvesting. Past experience in design-dependent pressure loading, acoustic-structure and fluid-structure interactions.
