Overview
I’m currently a PhD student in the Division of Cancer and Genetics in the School of Medicine at Cardiff University. I’m located at the UHW main building in Heath, Cardiff, and work with Prof. Alex Tonks.
Originally from Saudi Arabia, I received a B.S. in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Northern border university, Saudi Arabia, and a Master of Heath Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Quinnipiac University, USA. I had a position as a Postgraduate Fellow at Yale Medical school, USA. I'm interested on Leukaemia and Haematological disorders research.

Mechanisms underlying the required expression of S100A4 for proliferation and survival of AML blasts
Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) is a highly heterogeneous and aggressive disease in which leukaemia blasts replace normal haematopoietic cells in the bone marrow. My research aims to determine the mechanism by which S100A4 promotes the survival and proliferation of AML cells by examining the transcriptome of AML cells expressing S100A4 with those cells in which this protein was knocked down (KD). This will provide a global view of the pathways that are under the control of S100A4.
