Overview
I am a PhD researcher working on the practices of Displaying Empire in the ancient Near East. My research interests encompass much of the Near East and the use of material culture.
I am currently a PGR coordinator for SHARE with Schools, a seminar tutor and a committee member for the SHARE Seminar Series.

Thesis
Displaying Empire: Imperial Approaches To Power And Identity From The Ancient Near East To The British Empire
The thesis focuses on the empires of the ancient Near East and their influences/interactions to assess how (and why) empire was displayed to various audiences. Furthermore, the work will investigate the importance of different types of display in communicating imperial messages and agendas, for example, whether different civilisations prefer or prioritise certain types of display and why this might be. The thesis will use cross-cultural comparison to answer how display is used to communicate messages by different civilisations and the lived experiences of peoples subjected to such empires and display.
