I am a researcher at the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST) and am also part of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. My work is people-focused and looks at society and climate change. Prior to climate change research, I worked in the creative industry as a photographer and retoucher, then in communications.

I mainly work on climate change communication and public engagement, and have worked on several research projects with a creative focus. I am currently undertaking PhD research focused on university and research culture and practices in the context of climate change, and am also a research consultant.

Research interests

My interests are around climate change and society, and I have experience mainly in qualitative research methods. I have published research about climate change communication and engagement with the older generation in England, conducted as part of my MA in Climate Change: History, Culture, Society, for which I received the Best Thesis Award (92%).

My PhD research at the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformation (CAST) focuses on understanding university research culture and practices in the context of climate change. As part of this, I have published research analysing UK universities' climate emergency declarations and am conducting a UK-wide climate change survey of academics.

During my PhD, I worked as a Research Assistant at Climate Outreach on several qualitative and quantitative research projects, including Britain Talks COP26: New insights on what the UK public want from the UN climate summit.

I have worked on several research projects with a creative focus. These explored whether cultural events can catalyse engagement with climate change, diversity in images of England’s green and natural spaces (at Climate Outeach), and a current CAST-funded project to create a resource for the live music industry about influencing the travel choices of live music audiences.
