Scientists at the Neuroscience and Mental Health Research Institute welcomed beavers, cubs and scouts from 1st St Mellons Scouts for a night of neuroscience.
The scouts spent the evening learning more about the human brain and taking part in a range of activities, including racing across stroop mats and bouncing on a giant brain dome.
A group were treated to a tour of our state-of-the-art laboratories and Craig, a research technician at the Institute, explained how we use skin and hair samples to grow brain cells.
A delighted Akela of 1st St Mellons Cub Scouts Tony Byrne later said;
I'd like to express my thanks to all those involved in providing the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts with a magnificent experience of science in action tonight.
A special thank you to our laboratory manager, Emma Dalton, for organising the activities, and to the volunteers who went above and beyond to make it a memorable night for the young members of 1st St Mellons.
