These are the scholarships available to study through the medium of Welsh at Cardiff University.
Betty Campbell Scholarship
Amount: up to £1,000 each year
This scholarship is for students studying at least 20 credits each year through the medium of Welsh. All students are welcome to apply and we particularly encourage applications from students with the following characteristics:
- Black, Asian and minority ethnic individuals
- low income backgrounds
- first in the family to speak and write Welsh fluently (non-Welsh speaking household)

Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol scholarships
You can apply for Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol scholarships when you join the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.
Main Scholarship
Amount: £3,000 over three years
You are eligible if you study at least 66% of your course (80 credits) each year through the medium of Welsh.
Incentive Scholarship
Amount: £1,500 over 3 years (£500 each year)
You are eligible if you study at least 33% of your course (40 credits) each year through the medium of Welsh.
Medical Scholarship
Amount: £2,500 over 5 years (£500 each year)
You are eligible if you:
- are considering applying for a Medicine course in Wales
- study at least 33% of your course (40 credits) each year through the medium of Welsh
