We place equal emphasis on financial, environmental and societal sustainability and this is reflected in our research.

We build on core expertise in supply chain forecasting, inventory control, transportation science, supply chain modelling, logistics business modelling and freight economics to advance knowledge in areas such as:

• the circular economy and closed loop supply chains: forecasting and inventory/production optimisation
• the effects of additive manufacturing (3D printing) solutions on supply chain decision making
• distributed manufacturing and its implications for business modelling
• last mile delivery and its implications for freight/transportation optimisation.

The Centre also currently hosts the editorial office of the IMA Journal of Management Mathematics, published by Oxford University Press (OUP).

The mission of this quarterly journal is to publish mathematical research that can be directly used or has demonstrable potential to be used in the management of profit, not-for-profit, and governmental/public organisations.
