Our principles
We are committed to providing the highest possible quality teaching to our students. As such, we apply the following three tenets:
- We aim to teach students in a range of innovative ways, including lectures, flipped classrooms, reading seminars, discussion groups, lab sessions, and active research in the field; this range of engagement encourages positive interaction between staff and students and amongst students themselves.
- We encourage innovation and creativity in the assessment of teaching and learning, ensuring students gain and strengthen skills in writing, professional presenting, poster creation, and film making.
- The cutting edge research that we undertake informs the education that is provided to students- the vast majority of our teaching staff are active researchers.
The wide ranging and specialist expertise of our 60 members of staff ensures that all aspects of Planning and Human Geography are covered in our courses.
